1. Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions, the following definitions apply:
“Buyer” – The individual or organisation purchasing Goods from the Seller.
“Consumer” – Has the meaning given in the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
“Contract” – The agreement between the Seller and the Buyer for the sale and purchase of Goods, incorporating these Terms and Conditions.
“Goods” – The products the Buyer agrees to purchase from the Seller.
“Website” – www.reading-glasses-direct.co.uk
“Seller” – Reading Glasses Direct, a trading name of MerakiX Limited (Company No. 15896649), registered at Centrum, Norwich Research Park, Norwich, NR4 7UG.
2. General Conditions
These Terms and Conditions apply to all sales of Goods by the Seller to the Buyer and take precedence over any other documentation or communication from the Buyer.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions affects the Buyer’s statutory rights as a Consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
By placing an order, the Buyer accepts these Terms and Conditions in full. Any variation must be agreed in writing by the Seller.

3. Ordering
All orders placed through the Website ( https://www.reading-glasses-direct.co.uk/ ) constitute an offer by the Buyer to purchase Goods subject to these Terms and Conditions. The Seller reserves the right to decline any order for any reason.
Where Goods ordered by the Buyer are not available from stock, the Buyer will be notified and given the option to wait for the item to be restocked or to cancel the order and receive a full refund.
4. Age Restrictions
Where Goods may only be purchased by persons of a certain age, the Buyer will be asked to confirm they are of the appropriate legal age when placing an order. If the Seller discovers that the Buyer is not legally entitled to purchase certain Goods, the Seller may cancel the order immediately without notice.
5. Price and Payment
All prices displayed on the Website are inclusive of VAT at the prevailing rate (currently 20%). The total purchase price, including VAT, delivery, and packaging charges, will be displayed in the Buyer’s shopping basket before the order is confirmed.
An order confirmation email will be sent detailing the Goods, price, and information regarding the Buyer’s right to cancel.
Payment must be received in full before Goods are dispatched. Payments are processed securely via Stripe. The Seller does not store credit or debit card details. Please refer to the Stripe Privacy Policy for details on how payment data is handled.
6. Delivery
UK orders are dispatched the next working day and are typically delivered within 2–3 working days via Royal Mail. International orders are typically delivered within 10–14 working days.
The Seller will use reasonable endeavours to meet estimated delivery dates but shall not be liable for any losses, costs, damages, or expenses incurred by the Buyer or any third party arising from a failure to meet an estimated delivery date.
Delivery is made to the address specified by the Buyer at checkout. The Buyer shall make all necessary arrangements to receive the Goods when tendered for delivery.
Title and risk in the Goods pass to the Buyer upon delivery.

7. Cancellation and Returns
The Buyer has the right to cancel an order and request a refund by contacting the Seller in writing within 30 days of receiving the Goods.
Items must be returned unused, in their original condition, and in original packaging. For returns that are not the result of a fault or damage, return postage is the Buyer’s responsibility.
For damaged or faulty Goods, the Seller will refund the full purchase price including original delivery charges and reasonable return postage costs.
Refunds are processed within 30 days of the Seller receiving the returned Goods, to the Buyer’s original payment method.

8. Rights of the Seller
The Seller reserves the right to update prices on the Website at any time. Prices are not guaranteed for any specific period, although the Seller will make every effort to ensure accuracy at the point of purchase.
The Seller reserves the right to withdraw any Goods from the Website at any time and shall not be liable for doing so or for declining to process an order.
9. Warranty
The Seller warrants that Goods will correspond to their description at the time of dispatch. This warranty does not affect the Buyer’s statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
10. Limitation of Liability
The Seller’s maximum liability in connection with any Contract shall be limited to the purchase price of the Goods. The Seller shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or special losses.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
11. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
